1. How does Ampol support your wellbeing, both personally and professionally?

Ampol takes a holistic approach to wellbeing by providing both structured and informal support. Personally, I’ve benefited from the various fitness challenges and wellness talks organized by the Wellness Club, which help to maintain physical and mental balance. Professionally, there’s a strong focus on open communication, ongoing learning, and flexibility, which really supports career growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

2. What programs or resources at Ampol have made a difference to your work-life balance?

The flexible cash benefits for learning and development have been incredibly valuable, allowing me to pursue growth opportunities that align with my own pace and interests. In addition, access to study leave and discounted services contributes to my overall balance. The frequent team gatherings also provide space to connect, unwind, and strengthen team relationships in a relaxed setting.

3. Can you share a time when Ampol’s focus on wellbeing helped you overcome a challenge at work?

There was a period when I was managing overlapping project deadlines while also preparing for an external course. My supervisor scheduled regular one

-on-one check-ins, which gave me a safe space to express my stress points and realign priorities. The flexibility shown, combined with emotional support, really helped me navigate that time effectively without compromising either side.

4. How do you maintain your mental and physical wellbeing while balancing work commitments?

I make it a point to participate in Ampol’s fitness initiatives—it keeps me motivated and active. Mentally, I take advantage of the wellbeing talks and personal development sessions to stay grounded. Regular team catch-ups also provide a supportive environment where we can de-stress and reconnect with colleagues beyond just the work.

5. What initiatives or practices at Ampol do you think help create a healthier work environment?

Initiatives like wellness events, market update sessions, and external speaker talks keep us informed and connected. But what stands out most is the culture of open dialogue, especially during supervisor one-on-ones, where both professional and personal feedback is welcomed. These conversations foster trust and create a strong foundation for a healthier, more empathetic workplace.

6. How does Ampol’s culture support wellbeing in the workplace?

Ampol's culture encourages not just performance but people-first values. Within the Finance team, I especially appreciate the strong sense of camaraderie—our regular team gatherings are a great example of how the company promotes connection and relaxation alongside productivity. Supervisors act not only as leaders but also as mentors, creating a culture where people feel seen, heard, and supported.
