Growing with Ampol: A journey of opportunity, flexibility & growth

No two careers at Ampol are the same, and mine has been shaped by stepping up during critical moments, embracing flexibility, and being empowered to grow in ways I never expected.

One of the most defining points in my journey came during the COVID-19 pandemic. With uncertainty touching every part of the business, I was asked to take responsibility for forecasting national fuel demand and act as a key connection point with Ampol’s operational EMT.

 Beyond professional challenges, what’s left a lasting impression on me is Ampol’s genuine support for flexibility. Reducing my workload to part-time and taking parental leave wasn’t something I anticipated when I first joined, it gave me the ability to support my family while staying on track with my career. That balance has made a huge difference.

 Ampol’s commitment to development goes far beyond formal learning. I’ve completed programs like the Leadership Pipeline Program (LPP), Elkiem, and Harvard Business School courses, but the real standout has been the informal mentorship I’ve received. I’ve been fortunate to have managers who continued to support and guide me, even after I moved into new roles.

Over the years the scope of my role has changed, from shifting team structures to expanding responsibilities, most recently, I’ve transitioned into the Technology, Digital & Data team.   Through it all, I’ve embraced the evolution and growth opportunities that come with working in a business like Ampol.
