About Financial Operations

Within our Finance Operations team, the Accounts Payable function is responsible for processing supplier invoices, answering queries and managing purchasing cards. This team is responsible for managing the financial transactions within these areas.

About the role
Due to an internal move we have a rare opportunity to lead the Accounts Payable team and work in a role that spans people leadership, supporting career development, resource planning, relationship managing, as well as supporting with hands on work as needed.

You will have the opportunity to

• Guide and develop the Accounts Payable team to be a connected and high performing unit that supports successful financial outcomes for Z
• Ensure that Z maintains strong relationships with suppliers and retailers through efficient and timely payments
• Take the lead in redesigning and streamlining of existing processes with the aim of continuous improvement as well as leading relevant projects
• Own relevant systems (Approval Plus and Flexi Purchase) and be responsible for the delivery of technological updates to ensure they are fit for purpose
• Maintain a strong control framework

What you’ll bring to Z

• People leadership experience with strong skills in coaching and development
• Excellent organisational skills, for your own mahi as well as the team and the AP function
• Strong knowledge of finance, ideally Accounts Payable and Purchasing
• An eye for process improvement and experience working within projects
• The ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, this role will work right across Z as well as relevant external partners
• A bias towards action with a keenness to learn, change and grow
• Understanding of settlement processes and banking practices
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with proven ability to build trust and communicate
• Strong ability to understand complex problems and translate to a business outcome
• The view to see a broad organisational perspective

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
