About the role
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Technology Procurement team, supporting IT, software, and managed services categories. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Alexandria Head Office, with a hybrid working arrangement.

This role sits within a strategic procurement function that partners closely with the business to deliver commercial value through contract management, vendor engagement, and procurement advisory. Rather than being heavily sourcing-led, this position focuses on optimising long-standing supplier relationships, leading contract negotiations, and supporting stakeholders through complex commercial decisions.

You will play a key role in enabling procurement strategy execution across the organisation while acting as a trusted advisor to the business. With a major integration program on the horizon pending regulatory approvals, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to large-scale contract alignment, commercial reviews, and vendor optimisation activities across a complex and evolving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary commercial interface between procurement and business stakeholders across Technology, Digital and Data 
• Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial reviews with key strategic vendors 
• Manage and optimise supplier relationships to drive value, performance, and risk mitigation 
• Support stakeholders through sourcing and procurement processes in line with a self-service procurement model 
• Deliver procurement strategy execution at a category level, aligned to cost optimisation, risk, and value creation objectives 
• Conduct contract audits and support integration activities related to acquisitions 
• Provide commercial insights and reporting to support business decision-making 
• Ensure adherence to procurement governance, policies, and risk frameworks 
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and ways of working

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in commercial procurement, contract management, or vendor management within a complex organisation 
• Strong contract negotiation skills, ideally across IT services, managed services, or software agreements 
• Demonstrated ability to build and influence relationships with stakeholders across the business 
• Ability to operate autonomously in a decentralised procurement environment 
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts, market dynamics, and financial impacts 
• Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and driving commercial outcomes 
• Background in blue-chip or highly structured organisations such as mining, energy, or similar industries preferred 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to take stakeholders on a journey and drive alignment 
• Experience with procurement systems and tools such as SAP Ariba or Coupa is advantageous 
• Exposure to contract integration, acquisitions, or large transformation programs is beneficial but not essential
