About the role 

We are seeking an experienced Employment Compliance Lead to lead the design and delivery of proactive employment compliance frameworks across the Group. 

Reporting to the Group IR & Compliance Manager, this role owns key compliance and governance projects that mitigate employment and industrial risk and strengthen consistency across policies, systems, and practices. You will lead employment compliance initiatives, translate legislative and award requirements into practical solutions, and drive uplift through scalable frameworks, tools, and guidance. 

Working closely with business leaders, HR teams, and ER specialists, you will identify compliance gaps, monitor regulatory change, analyse risk and case data, and deliver targeted solutions that support a future-focused ER operating model. 

This role is ideal for a hands-on compliance professional with strong project delivery capability who enjoys building structure, driving accountability, and operating autonomously in a complex environment. 

This is a permanent, full-time role and can be based in our Alexandria NSW or Brisbane office.  

Key responsibilities 

  • Own and drive the Group’s proactive employment compliance plan  
  • Design and deliver employment compliance frameworks, governance, and practical ER solutions  
  • Lead or contribute to strategic ER and compliance projects that uplift consistency and maturity  
  • Translate legislative, award, and enterprise agreement requirements into scalable, compliant practices  
  • Identify employment and industrial compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies  
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative change and recommend proactive responses  
  • Analyse ER data and themes to inform priorities and capability uplift  
  • Lead ER policy reviews and governance activities  
  • Partner with HR, ER, payroll, and business leaders to identify gaps and deliver targeted solutions  
  • Collaborate with ER Specialists and Advisors to ensure alignment across compliance and ER strategy 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements, with the ability to translate requirements into practical, compliant solutions  
  • Experience leading employment or ER compliance programs, including regulatory or legislative response initiatives  
  • Proven capability delivering ER or compliance projects with multiple stakeholders, including frameworks, policies, and guidance materials  
  • Strong judgement and risk assessment skills, with experience developing scalable and consistent solutions across a business  
  • Confidence drafting clear, practical documentation for policy, compliance, and change initiatives  
  • Ability to analyse ER or compliance data and trends to inform priorities and measure effectiveness 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across corporate and operational environments  
  • Resilient, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex setting
