About the role 

We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional to join our Shared Services team, supporting Accounting and Reconciliation activities across Retail and Corporate FP&A. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial outcomes, high quality service delivery and continuous improvement across core finance processes. 

You will work collaboratively within a team environment to deliver accounting, reconciliation and SAP material maintenance services, meeting agreed service levels with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness and control. 

This is a 12-month, fixed-term contract based in our Alexandria office with a hybrid working arrangement. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Provide accounting for Corporate and Retail Business Units, including managing the Corporate Business Unit month end, processing journal entries generally and preparing account reconciliations, initiating corrective actions as required and following up outstanding balances. 
  • Complete daily receivables duties, ensuring reconciliations are completed without incident. 
  • Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats. 
  • Assist in areas of continuous improvement and identify further areas of improvement where possible. 
  • Deliver an agreed level of service and quality to customers and stakeholders in an effective and timely manner. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 3+ years' experience in a finance-based role in a large organisation. 
  • Sound understanding of key accounting principles for the delivery of accurate financial data. Applies accounting concepts without requiring supervision. 
  • Working experience of merchant receivable account setup and reconciliation. 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills. 
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and communicate appropriately. 
  • Experience in effectively planning and managing concurrent deliverables. 
  • Good working knowledge of SAP. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • High level of accuracy and tenacity to follow up on unreconciled items. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
