About the role 

At Ampol, our Supply & Optimisation team plays a critical role in ensuring fuel is delivered safely, efficiently and reliably across Australia. As a Scheduler – Product Supply Operations, you will help coordinate the supply of product across Ampol-operated and third-party terminals, balancing inventory, demand forecasts, shipping schedules and operational constraints to keep our network running smoothly. 

Reporting to the Supply Scheduling Team Lead, this role sits at the centre of a complex supply chain and involves daily engagement with terminal operators, shipping teams, Ampol Singapore, cargo operations and commercial stakeholders. You'll be responsible for executing supply plans, coordinating vessel movements, managing inventory levels and minimising costs such as demurrage, while ensuring product availability across the network. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, working with a broad stakeholder group and making decisions that have a direct impact on business performance. 

This is a permanent, full-time role and can be based in Sydney or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities 

• Coordinate inventory movements and product supply across Ampol-operated and third-party terminals throughout Australia.  
• Execute supply and distribution plans to ensure forecast demand and operational requirements are met.  
• Develop and manage import and coastal vessel shipment schedules.  
• Coordinate ship acceptance and berth scheduling activities across Ampol and third-party terminals.  
• Partner with Ampol Singapore, Cargo Operations, Shipping and Terminal Operations teams to optimise product movements.  
• Monitor terminal stock positions, forecasting requirements and supply reliability across the network.  
• Manage exposure to demurrage costs and lead actions to minimise operational inefficiencies.  
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of supply chain data within Allegro and other operational systems.  
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, terminal operators, internal stakeholders and commercial partners to support business outcomes. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent operational experience.  
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, scheduling, inventory planning, shipping or operational coordination environments.  
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and external partners.  
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure operational environment.  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the confidence to navigate complex issues and identify practical solutions.  
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact business performance.  
• High attention to detail, strong planning capability and a commitment to delivering accurate outcomes.  
• Experience within energy, resources, transport, logistics, shipping or other large-scale operational industries will be highly regarded.
