About the role
Ampol is seeking a Vendor Management Specialist to join our Procurement team on a permanent full-time basis, with the role able to be based in Brisbane. This position plays a key role in supporting and enhancing Ampol's supplier governance and supplier relationship management (SRM) framework across the supplier lifecycle, ensuring suppliers are appropriately qualified, onboarded, monitored and managed in line with governance, risk and ESG requirements.

Working closely with Category Managers, Contract Owners and suppliers, you will help strengthen supplier performance, improve stakeholder capability, support risk management activities and identify opportunities to deliver measurable business value. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career procurement professional looking to develop expertise in supplier governance, vendor management and relationship management within a large and complex organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support supplier qualification, onboarding and governance activities across the supplier lifecycle. 
• Coordinate supplier compliance, risk and ESG monitoring activities. 
• Support the management of strategic supplier scorecards, performance reviews and development plans. 
• Partner with Category Managers, Contract Owners and suppliers to strengthen supplier performance and relationships. 
• Promote adoption of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) tools, frameworks and best practices across the business. 
• Support stakeholder coaching and capability uplift in supplier management and relationship practices. 
• Identify, track and help realise supplier-generated value opportunities. 
• Maintain high-quality supplier data, reporting and governance records. 
• Act as a subject matter expert for supplier governance and SRM processes within the Ampol Procurement Platform.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Experience in procurement, supplier governance, supplier relationship management or vendor management. 
• Exposure to supplier performance management and supplier development activities. 
• Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, workshops, reviews or continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. 
• Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving and written communication capability. 
• Experience working with procurement systems, analytics and reporting tools. 
• Experience with SAP, Jaggaer or similar procurement platforms is desirable, as is CIPS or MCIPS accreditation.
