Our Corporate Affairs team plays a critical role in shaping and protecting Z’s reputation, strengthening stakeholder relationships and supporting the delivery of work that creates long-term value for Z and the communities we are part of.

 

About the role
Here at Z we stand for a resilient and healthy Aotearoa New Zealand that empowers our youth, neighbourhoods, and Z whānau. As Kaitaki Hapori Community Manager you will be the kaitiaki of this Community Stand and hold responsibility for embedding this stand into all that we believe and do at Z. 

Your mahi will see you lead the delivery of Z’s community investment and partnerships programme creating meaningful social impact while supporting Z’s business objectives, corporate reputation and stakeholder relationships.

This is a both a hands-on and strategic role where you’ll bring together strong relationship management, communications, community investment experience and commercial judgement to ensure Z’s is a good partner, funder and contributor in communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

 

You will have the opportunity to

  • Develop and deliver Z’s Community Partnerships and Investment approach, ensuring it aligns with Z’s strategy, brand and community needs
  • Manage a portfolio of funding agreements and community investment relationships, ensuring governance, reporting requirements and agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Deliver community initiatives, storytelling communications and employee engagement events that build awareness and participation
  • Provide insights and recommendations on partnership status, emerging community issues, stakeholder expectations and best-practice approaches
  • Support the delivery of Good in the Hood, helping ensure donations reach priority groups and causes and that Z shows up as a good funder
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term community relationships, leveraging opportunities to deepen engagement and create shared value.
  • Review the effectiveness of community investment using appropriate metrics to measure performance, progress and impact

 

What you’ll bring to Z

  • Experience in community investment, funding relationships and social responsibility knowledge
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills to confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders from senior leaders to grassroots community groups
  • Comfortable balancing delivery on the ground with organisational reputation and risk bringing business acumen and a strategic approach to creating value for both communities and Z
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build awareness, drive participation and enhance reputation
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity in community contexts and respond appropriately to groups with diverse needs, including potentially vulnerable people
  • Capability in Te Ao Māori and experience engaging with iwi organisations and Māori-led community groups
  • The passion for community, high levels of ethics and a commitment to Z’s values and social and environmental impact

The base salary range for this role is $132,200 to $155,550 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
