About the role

The position is responsible for leading the refinery scheduling team responsible for co-ordinating all Supply Scheduling activities related to the Lytton refinery. The role ensures that appropriate direction is provided to Refinery Operations enabling optimised refinery performance and continous suppl to all Lytton refinery customers

 

In addition to leading the scheduling team the role is also accountable for continuous improvement of Lytton refinery supply scheduling processes.

 

Key responsibilities

Leading the Lytton Refinery Scheduling team:

Accountable for the scheduling team responsible for coordinating all Supply Scheduling activities at Lytton Refinery including Crude, Middle Distillates, Gasonline, Pipeline, LPG and Natural Gas.
 

Oversight of scheduling and optimisation of the Refinery process units:

Ensure the refining scheduling team develop optimal plans and provide approproate direction to Refinery Operations enabling optimised refinery performance and continuous product supply to all Lytton Refinery customers. 

 

Management of key pipeline customers

Accountable for maintaining relationships with key pipeline customers ensuring expectations of customers are understood and met

 

Investigation of Supply incident

The role will lead investigations related to deviations from plan and scheduling related loses/near losses.

 

Profit initiative identification, development & implementation

The role will initiate and implement profit improvement initiatives that are cross functional across the refinery and Ampol supply teams

 

Improvement of Scheduling systems and processes

The role is responsible for continuous improvement of Lytton Refinery scheduling processes.

 

Coverage and on call duties

The role is expected to manage on-call requirements for the team and share some of the on-call requirements. The role will backfill scheduler roles to manage leave and other resource constraints

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Chemistry or related discipline or relevant experience
  • Refinery experience (ideally 10+ years) preferably with Refinery Supply Planning/Scheduling experience
  • Fuels Supply Chain Commercial experience (trading, supply operations, supply scheduling)
  • Ability to collaborate across the business and lead technical analysis in cross functional teams
  • Good understanding of Refinery process unit functions and refinery optimisation
  • High attention to detail and ability to navigate complexity and high volumes of information
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to make appropriate timely decisions
  • Ability to fill any of the scheduler roles to cover leave and on-call
  • Leadership skills aligned successfully to leading a small team
  • Initiative developing skills usine continuous improvement techniques
