About the role

We’re implementing a new Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system, a transformational initiative that will modernise our trading operations, strengthen controls, and enable data-driven decision making across the T&S value chain.

As the Functional Business Analyst in Squad 2 (Operations & Backoffice), you will be responsible for driving the business analysis, requirements definition and testing across multiple functional streams (Operations and Finance). You will act as the bridge between business users and technology delivery teams, ensuring that the CTRM solution design, configuration, and implementation meet business needs and deliver measurable value.

You will lead the definition and execution of business analysis activities across the complete change lifecycle, encompassing both business and technical change, for a designated area of the physical trade lifecycle.

This is a business-facing role requiring deep understanding of trading processes and strong capability in shaping and documenting functional requirements, process design, testing, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Work with business stakeholders (Operations, Finance and TDD) to understand current processes and support future-state design.
  • Document process flows and ensure alignment with CTRM program principles and system capabilities.
  • Contribute to preparation of training materials and process documentation to support business readiness.
  • Outcome: Well-documented processes that support consistent operations and system adoption.

Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to defined business analysis standards, templates, and governance processes.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, design, and testing artefacts.
  • Support review and sign-off processes by ensuring deliverables are complete, accurate, and consistent.
  • Outcome: High-quality and traceable analysis artefacts that support controlled and auditable delivery.

Individual Contribution & Development

  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and proactively manage progress and dependencies.
  • Seek guidance and feedback to continuously improve domain knowledge and delivery capability.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Outcome: A reliable and capable BA contributor supporting overall team performance and delivery outcomes.
