About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Area Sales Manager to join our B2B Sales team based in Sydney. We are looking for a driven sales professional who thrives on identifying new business opportunities whilst delivering exceptional account management to an established customer base
Your role will focus on promoting and driving growth across Ampol’s full range of Lubricants with a focus on the Automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and promote the full range of Exxon Mobil and approved Genuine lubricants to franchised automotive accounts, achieving volume and revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline within the franchised dealership segment, targeting sustained lubricant growth.
- Conduct regular business reviews (monthly and quarterly) with key customers to discuss sales performance, value capture, service levels, and improvement actions.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate tenders, contracts, and renewals in collaboration with legal and risk teams.
- Develop and execute marketing, account management, and value capture plans aligned with strategic business goals.
- Utilize Strategic Account Management tools (Salesforce, Bid Manager, SAP, etc.) to execute the B2B Customer Value Proposition effectively.
- Manage territory budgets, credit assessments, and profitability through cross-sell, up-sell, and cost control activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer solutions, maintain compliance with OEMS safety and operational standards, and foster strong internal stakeholder relationships.

You’ve got sharp commercial instincts and a clear understanding of how sales activity drives business results. Whether it’s building a pipeline, managing tenders, or negotiating high-value contracts, you’re motivated by hitting targets and exceeding
expectations.
Most importantly, you put the customer at the centre of everything you do. You know how to listen, understand their needs, and deliver tailored solutions that create value for both them and the business. Your ability to connect, influence, and build trust is
what sets you apart.
Key Skills and Experience
- Success in new business growth preferably within a Business-to-Business environment
- Automative Industry experience is desirable
- Ability to develop and execute sales plans while managing high-value customer relationships
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience closing complex contracts in competitive environments
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (verbal and written)
- Skilled in using CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, SAP) is desirable
